Tiered Open Needs, similar to Tiered Self-Scheduling, utilizes groups and tiers to determine when specific employees can see and request to fill open needs. These groups and tiers define a hierarchy of resources, or a flex path, within your labor pool taking into consideration employee types, experience, and overtime.
For example, an open needs tier may open 14 days prior to the scheduled shift and include a group of Core and PRN employees who have more than 12 months experience, but overtime is not allowed. 14 days prior to the shift date, employees who match the group requirements will see the posted need and can request to fill it. This tier gives preference to core employees and PRNs with seniority. A second tier that opens 10 days prior to the shift date may include Core and PRN employees with less than 12 months experience. A third tier may open five days prior to the scheduled shift that includes all employee types and allows overtime.
Facilities and departments can customize groups and tiers to meet their specialized needs.
